DIMPLEX HEAT PUMPS

Product Information

Dimplex has been producing innovative heat pumps for over 30 years with over 50 thousand installations every year across Europe.

We are committed to developing heating solutions that utilise sustainable and renewable energy with the aim of reducing CO² emissions and its impact on the environment.

From our manufacturing plant in Kulmbach, in Germany Dimplex produces the widest range of heat pumps available on the Irish market and leads the way in the development of energy efficient heat pump technologies.

Low running costs - Low ownership costs

Dimplex heat pumps provide major running cost savings over fossil-fuelled heating systems and can future proof your heating needs against energy price increases. But fuel costs are only part of the story.

Unlike gas and oil based systems, heat pumps require no costly regular maintenance or annual safety inspections. And because a heat pump has a reasonable life expectancy of 20 – 25 years, typically twice that of a boiler, the investment costs can be recovered over a longer period meaning the ownership costs over the working life of the system are demonstrably lower.

How do heat pumps work?

All Heat Pumps work a bit like a fridge (but backwards!), transferring heat from one source to another.

Essentially heat is transfered to the heat pump and this low-grade heat is used to boil refridgerant. The heat is then pressurised and the temperature goes up to 55-70 degrees – hot enough to be used for heating systems or hot water.

All Dimplex heat pumps produce significantly more renewable energy (up to 5 times) than the electricity required to power them.

Most heat pumps rely on an immersion to give them a boost when high hot water demand is required but heat pumps can also be installed in tandem with Dimplex solar thermal water heating systems to provide a complete domestic hot water and space heating solution. There are several kinds of Dimplex heat pumps you can choose from.

Cost-effective, low-carbon heating solutions

Whenever fossil fuels such as gas or oil are burnt, carbon dioxide is released. CO2 is the principle contributor to the greenhouse effect that is leading to long-term climate change.

However, as heat pumps extract as much as 75% of their heating energy from the environment, carbon emissions for heating can be to a fraction of fossil fuel based systems. In fact replacing all fossil-fuel heating with Heat Pumps would reduce global building energy requirements by 75%.
